Case study

Ryan Dahlstrom.

I built a personal site for an expert witness that works more like a professional record than a sales page. Lawyers need to verify credentials quickly and book time, and reporters need to know how to quote him, so I gave each of those visitors a direct route.

// how it was built

From brief to launch.

For a one-person practice, I treated the site as a CV with booking attached and planned each page around who would read it.

  1. 01 discover

    Who checks him

I identified attorneys vetting credentials and journalists looking for comment as the two key audiences.

  2. 02 plan

    Paths by service

I split his work into publishing, consulting and testimony and planned a route and booking option for each.

  3. 03 design

    Charcoal and red

I set the colours over bar interior photos and used consistent portraits plus his signature to personalise the page.

  4. 04 build

    Forms and downloads

I built the service-select appointment form, the free consultation section and the CV download button.

  5. 05 content

    Press and blog

I set up the media guide page, the commentary blog and his office address and hours in Las Vegas.

    Compact on phones

I checked that the headline numbers rearrange into a tighter grid while the form inputs use the full screen width on phones.

What I did

The build, step by step.

  • Credentials up front. A band of figures sums up his training, leadership, certifications and venue experience before anything else.
  • Three separate paths. Publishing, advisory work and courtroom testimony each have their own route so visitors pick the right service.
  • A consistent personal brand. Matching portraits, dark charcoal and red over bar interiors, and his signature under the introduction tie the man to the practice.
  • Booking and a CV download. An appointment form with a service dropdown, a free consultation section and a downloadable CV sit within easy reach.
  • A page for the press. The media page tells reporters how to contact him, schedule time and cite his comments.
