Case study

Long Island Light Decor.

I built a lead-generation site for a seasonal lighting installer where the quote form comes before anything else. People buy lighting by looking at it, so I paired that form-first layout with a dark night gallery that shows finished rooflines at their brightest.

// how it was built

From brief to launch.

The owners measured success in quote requests, so I planned each stage of the build around getting visitors to the form faster.

  1. 01 discover

    One clear goal

I confirmed with the family owners that enquiries mattered more than long descriptions, which set the page order.

  2. 02 plan

    Splitting audiences

I planned separate FAQ tabs for residential and commercial visitors and a service card for each lighting type.

  3. 03 design

    Festive but focused

I used holiday red and green across the site and a dark backdrop only in the gallery, where the lights need contrast.

  4. 04 build

    Forms that capture more

I built the short headline form and the longer quote form with budget choice, photo upload and SMS consent.

  5. 05 integrate

    Catalog and coverage

I wired up the free catalog download and a coverage map of the Nassau and Suffolk communities served.

  6. 06 ✓ shipped

    Enquiries on day one

I tested both forms and the download on phones and desktop before the site went public.

What I did

The build, step by step.

  • Form before the pitch. The request form sits right under the opening headline, and the mobile layout keeps it first, so a visitor can send details before reading about services.
  • Two tabs of answers. Homeowners and business owners each get their own FAQ tab, so neither wades through the other's questions.
  • A gallery built for night shots. I switched the gallery to a near-black background so after-dark installations glow instead of washing out.
  • A fuller quote form. Visitors choose a rough budget, attach a property photo and tick consent for text messages.
  • Cards and trust side by side. Cards for rooflines, walkways, wrapped trees and specialty greenery sit next to the guarantee and the no-ladder promise.
